On Purpose.

I think I had purpose all wrong. To me, the phrase ‘finding your purpose’ suggests that you are outwardly looking for it. You feel in search of it. On a hunt for it. It’s something you are looking externally for and ahead to find.

But now I realize that purpose is not what you do, it’s who you are. You don’t look outwardly to find it, but inwardly to reveal it. To know your purpose is to know yourself. To know who you are, what you value and what you want. To bring your truest self to what you do each day. When you are in your purpose you are aligned with who you are. You are fully in the present moment living and creating from your heart.

Being in your purpose is a feeling. Purpose won’t come from the thoughts in your head, it comes from a feeling in your heart. And oh, what a feeling it is xo

Who knew purpose could be so complicated lol.

It has taken me quite a while to learn that purpose is not something that you do, it’s who you are. You don’t go looking for it outside of yourself, you reveal it from inside of yourself. Your purpose is found within you, not outside of you.

Revealing your purpose means revealing your true authentic self. Living in your purpose means living from your heart, creating from your heart and embracing who you are fully.

Your purpose has to do with who you want to be, how you want to be and how you want to live. Your purpose is to be the truest version of yourself.

Right now purpose for me is a feeling. I feel like i’m living out my purpose when I am creating, connecting and in community. I feel like my true self. I feel like I did when I was a kid. It feels quiet. I feel absorbed. I lose track of time. I don’t know quite what I’m doing, but I want to do it. I have to do it.

I’m still not sure what to say when someone asks what my purpose is. I automatically look outwards still. But when I pause, feel inwards I know, i’m already doing it. Right now it feels like my purpose is to do exactly what i’m doing. Learning, creating, sharing, loving, connecting, being in community. I am in my purpose when i’m doing these things. In words it doesn’t sound that special, but it sure feels like it is.
